Cheap Domain Name Registration
What's the cheapest domain name registration website?
..For a business website.
Cheapest is not always best. Yahoo is cheap, but transferring is difficult. Stick with Godaddy. http://www.godaddy.com
what are the cheap and best domain name registration sites.?
Can we register with overseas website companies or do we need to reg only with indian co's
Yes, there a lot of them. You can find them by Yahoo! Search http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=cheap+domain+registrations&ei=UTF-8
Most on Yahoo! Search result will gives you overseas domain registrar that accept credit card payment and non-Indian local citizen.
You can register your domain with any overseas domain registrar most of them yes can. You don't have to register with your Indian companies if their services was that bad. There a lot outside from your country that gives you serve better services.
http://cheap-domainregistrations.com/ is the one cheapest domain registrar.
But, if you want the most satisfied services and quality return and benefits, Yahoo! Domains http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/domains/ is the best you can have.
Where can I find cheaper domain name registration with the features I need?
I'm currently using 123cheapdomains.com, which charges $13.95 a year per domain, which doesn't include any kind of whois protection. I was wondering if anybody knows where I can find registration for cheaper that will include the following:
* Whois protection of some kind.
* Point to an IP address (which I would think is a given)
* Allow me to specify MX records.
* CNAME pointing.
* Nameserver changing.
Every domain registrar might let you change the above options, I really don't know. But I figured including them couldn't hurt. What I don't need is hosting of any kind. I just want to point my domain to my IP address.
So should I stick with what I've got, which doesn't include the whois protection, or is there somewhere else that will do all that I need for less than $13.95? I've checked around, but everywhere I go seems to be rather shady, so I'm hoping somebody has some experience. The ability to pay with PayPal would also be helpful, but not required.
Thanks!
Domain Name registration in My Webbie Hosting.com costs only $9.50/yr. They also have Whois protection service as an upgrade, which costs $12/yr. Their customers also have the ability to control the MX record, CNAME, and DNS of their domain name.
Besides, if you purchase a webhosting plan, domain name registration is free.
Domain Name Registration?
Hey Everyone. I know there is no right or wrong answer here, i'm just looking for opinions.
I'm looking for a domain name thats good, but cheap. I am looking between godaddy, and hostway.com
I want a private registration, but godaddy adds $7 to your $10 registration per year.
I was checking out hostway.com, and theres is like $10, with the WHOIS protection included.
Is it worth doing godaddy for an extra $7? Or is their any other websites you guys and galz might suggest?
I have never used hostway.com, but I have used GoDaddy. It has a good interface for end users, and while I've stuck with them for most of my domain and hosting needs, I've actually began using domainsatcost.ca for the same reason [regarding privacy costs being included]. Their admin isn't as slick, but it is cheaper and definitely gets the job done.
I'm not recommending domainsatcost.ca, but using them as an example that you should just go with whoever you want as long as they are reputable and have been around a while. If you have no specific preference or reason to use GoDaddy, go with hostway and save some coin!
What's a good cheap domain registrar?
Yahoo apparently is raising their cost to $35 per year for domain name registration. Are there any registrars I can transfer to who charge $10 (or less) per year? Thanks.
Don’t trust any cheap service, many of them don’t allow you to have full control on your domain name. If you’re going to buy domain names, http://www.goldpuma.com is the lowest cost service which is full-featured and really works for you. ($9.99) They offer free extras with every domain name:

…
They have a really great offer & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.
Domain name registration -- help me get control back!?
I was dumb enough to sign up with an 'easy do-it-yourself online web design' services. You know--'fill in the template online and then you have a wonderful website easy and cheap' sort of thing...
It did not work out, which is fine. The problem is that when I signed up, I registered the domain name through this service. Now I want to use this domain name elsewhere on a professionally designed website, but it seems to be locked into the previously web design mentioned service--type it is an the poor, unfinished webpage appears. No one at the company seems to be interested in returning my calls or emails, so I am not sure if I can get this name back.
I really need this domain name. It is officially under my name when found on the internet, but I don't know how to free it from this lame website it is attached to...
Any advice? I don't know so much about this and it is really important for my business that I get the domain name under my control!
Best regards,
Jeff
Okay. If you registered the name through a different website go to them and see if they can revert it to point to their servers like it was originally.
If it is registered by this rouge company who wont return your calls. Try using the domain name transfer services of another entity. Usually they do all the work for you.
Remember if you still own the domain name, as in you pay for it, it is illegal for them to restrict access. If this is the case seek legal advice from an internet entity called IANA. They do all the domain registration.
Hope I helped
Is there any difference with whom you register your domain name? Why pay $20 if you can get it for $9?Any diff?
There is big difference how much WEB domain name costs depending upon who is selling it. What difference does it make for me from whom I buy it? Should I go for cheapest? Are there any known risks? I was looking at Verio.com who asks $9.95/year. I read some reviews and they appear to be legit company, but WEB hosting isn’t very reliable. Should I worry about it? I don’t need hosting, I have reliable hosting, but they charge quite a lot for domain name registration, so I would buy domain name from cheaper place, but host it somewhere else. Any pitfalls? Any suggestion who has great price and relyable service?
I am looking at HostOtter.com. Seems excellent price $6.95. Has anybody any opinion?
If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.

Moreover, I want to buy some other domain names at cheaper prices from NetFirms. How is the company? Will there be any problem or extra charges if I buy webspace from other firms. Please help as I am a novice in these things.
