Ok, in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, whenever I try to connect to a server, I get this error message. What the heck is a ping? And why am I not a low-ping? How do I successfully connect to the server and avoid this error message?

ping is your connection, if you have high ping, your laggy, no body wants laggy players so they set limits for how laggy you can be, if you get that error message your ping is too high

any way to decrease lag on my call of duty 4 server?
I don't have anything downloading, I don't have any other applications running. Some people still complain about lag issues. Are there any connection hacks or tweaks that can fix this?? For a server it should be the UPLOAD limit that needs to be better I believe.

it really depends, if your port is closed through your computer/router, it'll be 1/10th of your internet connection, try oppening the port, or simply check to make sure your internet isn't downloading at less than 1 MBit a second and uploading faster than 300 KBit a second

when i try to start a server on call of duty 4 i click every thing i need and i click start and it will take me out of the game screen and out to my windows and then the call of duty 4 console will show up. why duz it do this and why can't i host a server?

Call of Duty has great technical support 24/7 by phone. I cant remember the number but you can get it off of www.callofduty4.com and they will tell you the problem and exactly how to fix it.

As a person who runs a gaming clan, I can't see why anyone would want to cheat in an on-line game. It kind of defeats the purpose if you can simply turn on a wall hack or an aim bot and "own" your enemy. Interestingly enough, the world of anti-cheat is also improving a lot. You might want to re-consider that idea, as once your GUID has been caught, you'll only be able to play the game in non-pb enabled servers with other cheating players. The only way past that is to then purchase a new game, and completely remove the cheat from your computer. As a side-note of caution, many cheats out there today also include nasty little virii, back-door trojans, and so on that steal personal information from you, like your cd-key, amongst other things. These virii, trojans and malware can be incredibly difficult to get rid of, shy of formatting.

Call of Duty 4 server problems?
Since about the 26th, Call of Duty 4 servers have had major trouble. The in-game Live lobbies are very laggy also making the Dashboard laggy as well. Often I will be kicked out of the party for no apparent reason and it is rare to play more than one round at a time without being disconected. I use the Wireless Networking Adapter with other games such as Guitar Hero 3 and it works seamlessley. Any suugestions?

Online play for the 360 doesn't really use player servers. Each game is hosted by the player with the best connection
