Business Web Hosting Provider

Help me find a good web hosting provider for free...?
I need to make a site. It's not for a business, so I just want it to be somthing free. I would to be able to transfer files via FTP though..

I got one web hosting provider here http://www.webhostforasp.net , I was using thier service now. so far so good, thier speed is good, no complaint. But in my experience, a free web hosting is not reliable. Those provide free hosting provider storing all free website in a server, makes all the site slow. So I think a hosting that offer like Hosting for 12 months and get 4 months free hosting, I think this may meet your needs.

How much web space can a small business subscriber obtain? Ten Megabites not enough.?
I need to setup a domain name for my new small business. Time is important because telephone books go to print in a few months. Can I host my domain at AT&T Yahoo? How much storage can I obtain? How do I pick and register a domain name? Or do you have another web host provider you could recommend? Thanks, Scott Conley President, Consultant CWC, Conley's Wildlife Control, LLC

How does web hosting work? How do I go about creating a website for my photography business?
I would like a site designed in Flash. How much space would I need? What is a good provider? How does it work exactly? Do I have to purchase a domain name as well as the actual web space?

There are many free hosting sites, such as, 110mb.com , x10hosting.com, awardspace.com etc.. just google it.. as for the domain name, buy 1 in dynadot.com.. If you want a flash site, get a flash template, again, google it... it wont take much space...

What's a good web host provider?
I would like to create a website- I'm not sure what it will be on so far (either a personal About Me sort of a thing or on a specific hobby or both) but I would also like to possibly sell things on it via Paypal later. What would be a good starter web host provider? And by selling some things, would that be counted as a small e-commerce business? I see there are many different types of providers available, based on what I plan to do with the site, and I am confused by it all. Part II of my question is, is it easier (cheaper) to sell things through ebay or by selling creating your own web site? What I would be selling are postage stamps I have collected over the past 10+ years which I guess I've outgrown and used CDs, DVDs, etc. I've tried listing them on e-bay, but they're not doing too well and ebay charges outrageous listing fees whether or not they sell. Thanks a lot. Something that would be really helpful would be if you could add a link to your site (nothing inappropriate please) you use or know of someone who uses your suggested provider to give me some ideas and the its functions in the works.

I've had great success with http://www.godaddy.com for years. They are CHEAP also! Ebay is a great way to reach many different users that would otherwise be difficult to drive to your own website.

I am starting an online small business and am needing a good reliable web host in australia ?
i am wanting to set up a very easy simple online store which only uses paypal as a payment option. I am just after a basic page people can go to with gallery pics of items that can be clicked on for a small amount of text info/enlarged picture & button to pay via paypal as well as a couple of links people can click on for text regarding shipping, terms and conditions, general info and a blog and my logo at top of page i'm not wanting it to look boring and plain though. please help as i am having trouble with starting it all up and finding the best value for money way to start it all up if anyone knows and uses a great web host provider in australia please share your thoughts. cheers :) oh and anyone use zencart??

You should check out http://www.hostamina.com - They have a free easy installation of CubeCart, OS Commerce, and Zen Cart - and if you don't want to install it yourself you can just ask and they will do it for you, also free. Furthermore, they'll put you on a super fast server that isn't overloaded (unlike most companies) and ensure your site stays online so that you never lose customers. They will also provide you with personalized support, and help you with essentially anything you desire!

I need a reliable hosting provider. I have been with a few but run into different problems.?
I am a web designer with a business and need a very reliable hosting provider. I work with flash, fireworks, dreamweaver, and photoshop cs2. At first I was with yahoo until I foun out they did not allow .htaccess files, with globat, my site was down too much, I am with go daddy right now and I am trying to use a simple .htacces and .htpasswd file to protect a directory and the screen pops up, but it won't let me into my site. I have a business to run and don't have time for issues like these. i know that my code is correct and have tried several times, I even copied and pasted. Tech support was uinable to diagnose prob also. Any suggestions for another hosting provider that will allow monthly payments. i don't want to lock in anywhere until I know I will be satisfied.

http://www.DependableHost.net is the host for you! Because you are a designer - get one of their reseller accounts (starts at around $20) and you can host unlimited domains, maintain complete control over them - and have a seperate login for the clients as well. .htaccess is totally compatible. I HIGHLY recommend http://www.DependableHost.net - I've gone thru all the "big" hosts - and the customer service and knowledge slacks so much because they've got phone calls coming 24x7x365. I've found DependableHost.net and I'll never switch away. As soon as you get your account, you're assigned a "service rep" who is dedicated to your account. I get a phone call every month or so from him asking how things are and if everything is working ok. I also got a christmas card this past week personally signed by him. I've never had my site go down once and I've been with them for 1.5 years now! You can try them for 30 days free now! Give 'em a shot! I Guarantee that you'll be impressed!

.com / .com.au / .co.jp question?
If I was to do a website for a client in Japan, who is wanting get a .co.jp in their URL, how would I go about setting it up...? In Australia, we have to provide an ABN (Australian Business Number) to qualify for a com.au .... Is it the same in most other countries...? Would I have to go through a Japanese web host provider..? Thanks in advance. B.

I have been emailing a girl in Japan for a few weeks now and her address ends with ".com.ne.jp". I don' tknow if that helps bt your welcome to it.

Opening an online store. What's the best way?
Is ‘Yahoo small business’ http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/... the best provider for web hosting, paypal and marketing online. I have studied it and thinks fine. What are the other best webhosters and service providers that helps opening a perfect store easily and secured? What are the insecurities that I have to be cautious? Please give me a general idea. Thanks.

I've built my own out of open source products. If you so desire, check out http://www.oscommerce.com Building your own requires time and knowledge for sure. I also have an eBay store. It's not too expensive (around $16) a month for the storefront and only a dime to list each item for a month. Adding other features will cost you more. My listing fee (for the store inventory) is only 13 cents per item per month. To list the item as an auction, however, runs me around $2 for 10 days. This may/may not be something you want to consider, but thought I'd toss it out. You can check out my eBay store at: http://www.Romans10-9.org Hope it helps!

What is the fastest upload speed internet connection?
Where do web hosting companies get there internet connection? For example, Lycos servers have 40Mbps servers - where do they get it from? I'm thinking of setting up a home web server some time, and obviously I'm not wanting 40Mbps upload, but a few Mbps would be good, and there doesn't seem to be any providers that I can find, for home or business, that provide that sort of service.

only when you are connected to a university network you can get those speeds. The network you need is just expensive.....

How do I design websites for others?
I understand the process of designing and optimizing. I've been designing for quite some time. In fact, most of what I know I've learned myself. Designing with Fireworks and Dreamweaver comes quite naturally to me and then I optimize. My question falls more in line with the business end of things. As far as domain name purchasing, web hostimg services, etc., who's name does it all go in? Do I purchase all this and charge the customers a flat fee? Or should I walk the customers through chosing the domain, and the hosting providers? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

You can get started with a reseller account at HostGator for only $25 a month... and then upgrade for higher capacity if you need it. Or alternately, if you want to go the route of having the client sign up for their own account, sign up for HostGator's affiliate program and earn an extra $50 for getting them the account (more if you have a higher monthly business volume.
