Business Site Hosting
Started a business, best site building and hosting service?
I recently started a t-shirt business and am looking to sell online. I am a beginner when it comes to site building, hosting and such. Is Yahoo a good provider for a start-up business as far as web design, hosting, effectiveness, ease of use, etc? Is there better out there that is also inexpensive? Thanks people of Yahoo answers.
I would like to suggest following webhosting , they are excellent.
Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukenden/
They offer hosting of "unlimited domains" and you will get massive webspace of 200000 MB (200 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer "a free Domain Name" and installing service called "Fantastico". By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer "Free Website Builder" as well.
Visit the site to check details.

Domains
Following site is quite good to register domains as price is reasonable with free privacy. Some charge about $5/ year just for free privacy.

I would like to start a web site development business and offer hosting. Does anyone know how to offer hosting
I would like to know how to offer website hosting to my clients. I would aslo like to know if anyone can suggest companies to purchase web space from.
There are literally hundreds of hosts who offer reseller plans so choosing one over another is no simple matter. From the tone of your question it sounds as though you have little knowledge about "reseller hosting". In a nutshell you buy the hosting and then sell it on to others. This brings with it a fair amount of responsibility and if you are new to hosting, making a bad choice could cost you dearly in terms of both money and customer goodwill.
Without knowing your personal level of experience my best advice would be to visit some of the hosting forums and check out their reseller discussion boards. This way you can benefit from the experience of others and hopefully avoid the pitfalls. Bear in mind that some forum users will be pushing you towards certain companies for their own financial reasons but you will find genuine advice and expertise from many board users.
There are numerous forums around, just run a search for "hosting forums" then check the boards for a reseller specific area and you'll be on your way.
Where can I buy the best hosting site for my small business website?
My mother is going to be selling some Avon products and I wanted to get her started on a website of her own. We are thinking about purchasing a domain. Does anyone know a good, great or excellent place where I can buy one that will fit her critera (situation)? We want to be running for atleast 1 year just to try it out, maybe an even shorter length. We want to put some videos on the site. We want a email for the webpage and maybe a tool with a refer-a-friend form. Thanks!
I would highly recommend godaddy. I think it will do everything you want at a low price. I have purchased several domains through godaddy. I have a friend that has purchased a domain name and is using them to host his website for a small business.
Should I use Yahoo web hosting for my business web site?Shouls I build my site on Yahoo sitebuilder?
I am trying to build my first website. It is for our family business.
The advantage of using Yahoo, especially if you are thinking of starting an ecommerce business (selling products on the Web) is that they already have everything for you in one package. They give you all the components you need to start your online business -- web hosting, domain name purchase, shopping cart, administrative panel to track your sales, etc.
The drawback is that you may have limited functionality as you grow your business. But as a start, I think choosing Yahoo can make it easier for you to start your online presence.
One thing you need to consider, though, is how reliable is the help/support of Yahoo. You would want to have easy access to support for any questions or problems you may encounter in every step of starting and running your business.

Can someone suggest a web hosting site for my cooking business?
I have already designed my page.
What about Optimum Boost
You are exactly the kind of person we look for to host with us. I own a company called eVentureBiz. We are a web hosting and development company. I run a blog on our site where I talk about how to think and grow as an entrepreneur and we also host a new community forum where you can post anything business or web related.
Our hosting accounts have everything a business needs. Free included software which are easy to install: blogs, shopping carts, forum, wiki, image galleries where people can create usernames and passwords, etc.
Take a look and if you're interested, feel free to message me using my blog's contact me page.
There's also an area on our site you might find interesting, called The Relax Cafe.
Take care and good luck,

Should I change my web hosting server? For Zen Cart shopping cart? and what about for my business info site?
I have a Zen Cart e-commerce site but I want some more customization to the template (one issue) and I also wonder if a different hosting site would result in more traffic and more online orders (a second issue.)
Can the selection of the hosting site result in more traffic and more orders? I selected who I've got because at the time I thought the inter-linking with all the other community sites they serve would benefit me. (The info business site.)
The e-commerce site came second, but now is my primary concern. My service provider and hosting site brought me to Zen Cart and have me set up but only adequately. I'd like to customize the template more (I can lean on them to get that done if that's really the only shortcoming) - - but I also wonder if they just aren't an expert host for e-commerce and that if I went with someone from Zen Cart's recommended list (or another big national).... that I'd get more orders.
Are security badges important? I see a lot of sites without.

How to Transfer Ownership of a Site to a New Owner in Yahoo! Small Business?
I am a partner in a small company with 2 other guys. We've decided to dissolve the partnership and I get to keep the name, logo, website, etc. We built a decent site and have it hosted by Y! small business. The 2 guys own other businesses and the site is hosted under their account and name. How do they physically transfer the ownership of the URL to me? I have my own Y! small business account set up.
I searched Answers but only found people needing to change name servers. Let me know if you have any insight. Thanks.
Sorry I wasn't being clear. They have this account managed as one of many URLs. If I logon to their account and change the name, contact emails, etc. for this particular URL this won't stop the URL from being associated with this other guy's account, not mine.
Okay let me try again. First of all are you in good standings with the other 2? If so, Its simply a matter of finding your own web hosting site. You can use Yahoo if you choose. Once you have a hosting site, you should easily be able to copy the original to the new host. Then its simply a matter of transfering the domain name in the original account. Your original partners can do this easily in the account. I hope that makes sense! Make sure you have copies of the html and any files included with it.
P.S. dont confuse the domain name with the actual url of the site. All a domain name does is direct someone to the actual URL where the page is stored. I.E. If you have your site stored at blabla.xyz.useraccount.net, the domain name simply sends the people to that url. Once the site is moved, its a matter of them simply dumping the files on the original. You may also have to reconfig the html links to your liking. Its not an easy task by any means! For instance, any email link would need to be redirected to an email thats afilliated with you. Any links that direct someone to them would have to be removed. I could probably be of more help if I saw the actual site.
