Dont pay that much - you can get great programs at HostGator.com and http://www.resellerzoom.com
If you have your own customers you can make money.
Selling on the internet is VERY competitive and hard.
Web/Reseller Hosting Businness?
Hello all,
I would like to start a web business.
Which type of Web business is good at present. Basically I am a Developer.
What about reseller hosting business, how long would it take for us to stand and what is the scope of it.
Hi, well it depends on what kind of reseller you want to be. If you just want to buy a resellers plan it takes a smaller investment. If this is what you want I would recommend emailing the people at http://www.hostamina.com and having them make you up a custom resellers plan, that's what I did and it worked out great for me. They're very reliable and on top of their game, and they don't give you fake "unlimited" space/bandwidth.
Reseller web hosting?
i want to set up a reseller web hosting business, but im not sure how to go about it, i know i have to buy a domain name and buy reseller web hosting which is no problem, the problem is how do i accept payment and how do i set it all up?
any help would be great
thanks
Hi, I have a reseller account with hostgator.
I don't have a website ,yet.
I started after having a shared account with unlimited domains, after few years they have start to complain, because the websites were been transferred to other people so manly 80% of the websites was not owned from me.
Anyway now i have a reseller account with them, and works great.
When i sell a website if the client choose to host with me directly, I just past his information in the web host management system, of my reseller account, to set is easy they also have videos and the online chat is great for quick answers.
About how to accept the payments, they have a system which make you automatically every month or depending how often the client decided to pay send an email with a link to your paypal account, I am not sure if you can use also others types of payment, I guess so, but better you ask.
At the beginning some trial error, but became automatic after a while.
If you set a website, there is an interface that is the same of hostgator,
so works the same.
the client has is own cpanel with all the features as if you buy a shared hosting with them.
Have a look to the website they have also some links to demo control panels, of your reseller account and the cpanel of the client.
Hope helps
Good luck!
How can I hold a web host accountable for lost business due to server failure?
My business website with my portfolio was been down for nearly three weeks because my web host's server is down. Their website touts 24/7 service, rapid response fixes, and all sorts of other great customer service.
I generally have to wait 2-3 days for an email reply, their phone number is disconnected, and their "within a few days" data restoration is obviously not working.
I finally got one of their service reps to be honest with me and it turns out that they're essentially a data center reseller and the data center is being incompetent with the server restoration, though my data is fine. They don't know when it will be available again.
Can I take legal recourse to recoup lost business? On average, a project makes me anywhere from several hundred to several thousand (I'm a freelance writer) and I average 3-4 new clients a month. In addition, there's the long-term impact of potential future repeat business and exposure through my blog.
You could try, but the odds are remote.
Any host with anything on the ball will never accept responsibility for lost business because of anything they do, and it's almost certainly in the fine print you signed that in the event of an outage they're responsible only to replace the time that the site was down.
There are too many potential problems with computers and networks for them to take on responsibility for lost business.
Your best bet is probably to find someone who is a small independent web developer who uses one of those massive data centers to handle your website in the future.
