Business Ftp Hosting

i need help with my FTP and my business.?
i use FTP and my host is hostultra. i dont want to waste a bunch of my computer space to upload 50 movies and make my pc SUPER slow. so i upload them to the website. Now, i need a way so that it doesnt store the files ON my computer but ON my host the host has unlimited upload and bandwidth. please give me help.. more info: i have smartFTP my business is private. and i NEED HELP!

First... just having movies on your system will not slow it down. They're just big files, nothing more. Start SmartFTP, log in with that data. That should open the root of your account. Create a folder, and simply drag and drop your movies to that folder. When they're all uploaded, select all the originals in Windows Explorer, and hit DELETE. Gone. And hope the uploads went right, didn't get corrupted during the process, and that the files remain in place on the web server. And you'll understand I'll accept no responsibility for telling you to delete your original movies... :-)

how much data does a typical business download in a month, or an average per pc basis?
business has 34 pcs and uses email, ftp for business transactions. WEbsite and email hosted externally. runs windows xp network with 2 x windows 2000 servers

It should not cross 5-8 GB of data transfer, with 34 users, using mails, FTP traffic, down loads softwares etc. General rule of thumb is per user can utilise 250 MB of data transfer using through emails, FTP, general browsing needs, in such circumstances 250MB X 34 users gets 8.5 GB dtata transfer. U has to consider out of that 10-15% they wont utilise full 250MB data, generally by 34 users u should not exceeds 5-8 GB., If it crosses u has to peep up ur users are doing some mischief, not productrive work.

who is my ftp host?
I have an acccount with yahoo for web hosting, but its taking too long to activate itself, I heard it can be got round if we can find out who my ftp host is, its ebing hosted through yahoo small business, any way of finding this info out

Have to say ..... sorry!!! but Yahoo! isn´t the best medium for this. Get on a search engine and find yourself any of the free hosts that give you actual reports from people who are already using them.... there are some really good ones out there - honestly

Getting a new ftp cient that can handle larger file size.?
In working with my first web hosting company it is suggested I get an ftp cient that can handle larger file size. I am using joomla with linux base. Which are ftp clients for free that are simple to use? How do I install it and where do I install it? I know nothing about this ftp business except that it means file transfer protocol. Keep it as simple as possible.

How do I setup an FTP site with Dreamweaver using Yahoo as my host?
I have a website using Yahoo Small Business Starter Plan and I use Dreamweaver as my web builder and ftp (at least try to ftp) to upload & download files. How do I set Dreamweaver up to ftp to my site?

In Dreamweaver, you set this up in your Site/Manage Sites panel. You'll need the server address, login and password, which is available through your Yahoo web account management area.

My Yahoo website - "Site Temporarily Disabled" Business Webhosting Problems?
I have had business web-hosting service with Yahoo for several years with no problems. A few days ago my business email stopped working and my website was replaced with "Site temporarily disabled", "This site has been temporarily disabled. If you are the owner of the site, please contact customer care." My latest bill was paid successfully just a couple days before this happened by automatic payment. My website is an business directory website with no questionable content on it. In the FTP, I can see those files, but I can't download them. Anyway, my site has been down since the 11/6. There is nothing stated in my account page as to why or what is going on. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Have any suggestions?

What is the best server for me?
What would be the best performance/value for money server for a small business. I need to host a server for ftp services with about 25 users connecting to the ftp at any given time.. Please guide me with details as to the brand/model number. Any other relevant info in this regard would be highly appreciated..

FTP server is a very small use for a business server. i have a simple home server (its just a converted dell i put Windows Server 2003 on) and FTP is one of many uses i have for my server. i also have a network share, a few game servers, print server, web server ETC. it would help to know what you need it for for ex. what kind of business, do you plan on expanding, what other protocols will you need later on and so on. if your asking about a server on yahoo im going to guess its not a big business or its a home business, its not computer oriented, and its not very complex. im also guessing you dont want to spend a whole lot. your best bet is to find a company that deals with small home businesses. they can buy/build a full sized server rack or just a workstation computer. i know a guy that works for a small company called alchemy computer services LLC witch is just what you need. look at there site (link bellow) alchemy is in southern CA so i doubt this will be of use to you but maybe you can find something close to you that preforms the same services. best buy also has a branch dedicated to businesses you might try there if nothing else. if you just want a personal server, do what i did, take a regular computer does not have to be top end at all (mine is a 3 year old dell, its great) and load linux or if you have the money windows server 2003 or 2008. then just find someone to set it up for you. im sure you can find people around your area that will do it. students such as my self will take small jobs like this for a price. edit: HARD WARE DOES NOT MATTER my main server ran with 512 RAM and an old P4 2.8Ghz (2800Mhz) for years until i finally upgraded it to 1 and a half Gb of ram. my other server is a 700Mhz P3 (the average home PC has a 2000Mhz to 3000Mhz processor) my point is hard ware is not a big deal SOFTWARE IS! use windows server or a PROFESSIONAL version of Linux (command based) good luck - if you have any other questions email me jeremy@jerm-tech.net <-- jerm-tech.net is hosted from my home server

Anybody familiar with FTP accounts?
I upgraded my hosting services from Starter plan =100 mbs to a Business plan =400 mbs. Now in this new plan I have 5 ftp accounts. My question is: Can I use different domains for each FTP account.? Like for example: www.sonidomazatlan.com www.machinesy.com www.otherdomain.com www.newdoamin.com www.yournamey.com

I have this same situation and I have all of my domains in one hosting account with Pair. The prices are great. One host, one account, one directory, different domains, all with dedicated IP addresses but I think I need to downgrade to shared IPs.
