I really want to start my own personal website for friends and family with the hope of one day perhaps doing some more. So what would be the best service out there with the possibility of upgrading to multiple accounts and adding more domains later? I'm really getting confused by all the different companies out there so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ebay? Would be much easier with their ebay stores. If not, try godaddy. Their shared hosting service is pretty cheap, and mostly reliable with tons of space and 25 databases. They have software that can do shopping carts (Look in Godaddy hosting connection). One advice, use phone for support, not email. Another option would be to use google pages and google checkout.

What's the best web hosting service?
I have a webpage I made in HTML of all my photos that I want to put on the internet. Is there a good web hosting service that anyone would recommend? I've found a few but they seem to be ones where you have to make the page there, which I don't need. It doesn't necessarily matter if it's free or not, but not too expensive either! I guess I should mention after reading the last reply that I have TONS of photos on my page, when it's finished I expect it to have about 3,000 photos on it. I work at an SPCA and take pictures of the dogs, nothing special, just a regular point-and-shoot camera, but since I started I've taken about 4-5,000 pictures. Does this change the sort of hosting I'll need, as opposed to having 50-100 photos?

It all depends on your knowledge in html (or other forms of coding) If you have absolutely no experience, I would recommend using geocities from yahoo (geocities.yahoo.com) or freewebs.com, which dont require any previous knowledge in programming to make a good-looking site and are completely free. Those sites are limited, however. If you have more experience and know how to program, I would highly recommend 50megs.com. It's easy to use, has a really high storage for lots and lots (and lots and lots, im not kidding) of pages. 50 megs also hosts websites for a fairly cheap price (if you want no advertising, that is) and also offers free hosting (with advertising on your page) I would recommend 50 megs over any of the others, and if you are looking to get a brief tutorial on html, you can find several on the internet. The one that I found to be the most helpful while learning how is coolcherrycream.com. It has several different webdesign tutorials and explains them really well. Good luck :)
