If I create an ASP.NET web application and a SQL Server 2005 Express database, is it just a matter of uploading the files to the web hosting site and then it will all work? Can I create the database on my client machine and just upload it when it's finished?

I have searched several asp .net 3.5 hosting from google, and I got the result like discount asp and IX web hosting.Anyone have experience with these two?. I am looking for something cheap but good enough for development test server, preferably if it provide sql server 2005 and must support .net 3.5

IX are the best out there. I am with them and so far they beat everyone hands down. I get 8 individual IPs, host as many domains as I want, unlimited subdomains etc etc and they are cheap.I am not easily happy with web hosting people but I fully recommend IX. I swear I changed 5 hosters in a month, I won't name them now but there's lots of rubbish out there. Anyway, try them if you have probs just ask for the money back, that's what I do WITHIN a week, before I even set up 2 sites, it takes me nothing to suss them out. But IX convinced me. I have many sites with them.

Does Yahoo Small Business Web Hosting support ASP.NET2.0 Web Pages?
I am a web developer working on a project in which my client has an existing web hosting service through Yahoo Small Business. However, it appears that this web hosting service does not recognize files with an aspx extension. It may be a publishing or configuration problem, but it appears that yahoo doesn't support ASP.NET2.0. Which is outrageous, considering it (along with AJAX) are the emerging standards in web design... Thanks for any input that saves me from actually calling yahoo and remaining on hold for half a day just to get a yes or no answer....

I have a few dozen websites with GoDaddy. The hosting is fine. You should be aware that they are rather restrictive with MS SQL Server connections, and you'll have to carefully read their literature if you ever want to use SQL Server. Otherwise, I love it! P.S. I might point out that they also support MySQL and Access without the MS SQL issues.
