Artist Website

I just completed a website for a major recording artist. How can I get traffic to my site from this?
I just finished up a website for a major recording artist (a website redesign) for them - Now, we're about to go Live with the new site. What do I need to do besides linking my website at the bottom of each page (example: site designed by blah, blah) - What is the BEST way to make sure my website gets some good exposure from this site that I just finished? Any ideas, thoughts??? Thanks!

Well there are several things you can do to increase your exposure through this process. First, rather than just creating a back link to your site on each page, consider building an additional page within their site that carries more information about your business that in turn will link back to your site. Then you can build several anchor tags on the page that link to you. As their site increases exposure and becomes more relevant your page within their site will go up in value as well and will give your back links more credibility. Next, you should create an entire section on your website dedicated to theirs. Discuss everything you did in designing their site in pain staking detail. this will allow people looking for them to find you among the list as well. The sooner you can do this the better as age is one of the factors that search engines consider when indexing and ranking sites. The other thing you may want to consider is that instead of doing the same old same old (Site designed by blah blah blah) is to put some marketing into it. If you tell everyone who designed it and they know nothing about you, there will be no interest and the likelihood of them visiting your site will show that. Depending on the site, consider something more like "Do you know who designed this site?" or "Come on, Click me, I Dare You". Just make sure you don't put anything on there that will upset your client. When we did this for several of our clients we were surprised at how different the response was and the increase in business was noticed. Good Luck, and hope this helps.

What do you think of this artist/photography website?
I am considering joining this artist website. What do you thing. i am a photographer www.trackntree.com

I took a quick look at the site and found it quite fascinating. The work displayed is of a quite high standard, particularly Oliver Brooks'. If your work is art then you should join and display it. I don't see how you have anything to lose. At least the curator will give you some good feedback! Good Luck!

Where is the best place to create an artist website?
I want to use one of the free website making programs to put some of my artwork online. Which would you recommend?

deviantart.com Easy to use, not very much personalization but it gets the job done. Or you can use Freewebs.com or Blogspot.com

Chattanooga Skyline Photo- does anyone know an artist/ website?
I am looking for a 10 x 17 black & white photo of the Chattanooga skyline for my b/f for Christmas. I have used several different search engines, and I can't find anything I'm crazy about, if anything comes close to what I'm looking for. Our idea is to have a collage of every city in which we've lived. If you know of an artist or website (that isn't too expensive!), please let me know. I appreciate it!!! =)

I am a local photographer from Chattanooga and would be glad to try to help! If interested please contact me and we can discuss details of how you would like the photo to be shot, e.g., location/perspective from which you wish the shot to be taken. Hope to hear from you... John

What would you expect to see on an artist website besides this stuff?
Artist's profile Gallery/Portfolio Convention or Exhibition schedule Blog Contact info Think someone who primarily sells things at anime/comic conventions but also wants to broaden her horizons as a freelance illustrator/gallery exhibitionist. I'm specifically trying to figure out if I accidentally left out anything HUGE that should probably be on this list.

Your artist's profile should have an artist's statement in it as well as your bio. Also make sure you include any awards or competitions you have won. If you want to go into freelance, you should have a list of previous clients (if you don't have any, maybe skip that for now until you get a few). Try to show something different, too. Like explain the process of a drawing, show works in progress, give tutorials.

Where can i go to get a Music Artist Website Designed?
I am looking to get a flash/html hybrid site with a dark almost gothic feel. This site is going to house my music instrumentals in conjuction with my Music Production company and possibly a few music videos. The style of music is Hip Hop, Pop,r&b, and Rock. If anyone can suggest some sites that would be great

What is the safest language to write an artist-networking website?
I ask this because the website I am creating will involve a lot of money transactions, legal matters, etc. I am trying to avoid as many vulnerabilities as possible. I was thinking of using PHP but I do not know how safe it really is. Thanks in advance. I forgot to mention that I a lot of experience with HTML and CSS, and I only use PHP's 'include' function to give multiple pages the same layout.

Well, usually the language is a secondary concern. What matters is your experience with the platform, and your knowledge of security issues. If you're starting from zero (not knowing much about any language) I suggest you avoid PHP. There are lots and lots of security holes for the unwary, and its programming model encourages naive coding which has lots of security problems. There are no really great languages for security, sadly. At least not among the ones we use to build websites these days. Perl has some useful security related features (look up data tainting) but it's far from a panacea. Python is extremely simple and predictable to code, and this always helps security. There are some good frameworks like Django which will do more of the heavy lifting for you, and thus you won't have a chance to introduce your own security-related bugs. Ruby and Ruby on Rails have similar virtues. If you are paranoid about security : a) learn about it! There are lots of good books. "Web Security, Privacy, and Commerce", by Simson Garfinkel, is one. b) try to find a platform that's rock-solid and handles the hard stuff so you don't have to. People tend to screw up security in the object-relational mapping, SQL query definition, and javascript interactivity. If your platform does all that stuff with higher level calls there's less chance you'll screw it up.

Does anyone know a website or Artist that can create your projected aging image?
Anyone know what i'm talking about? It' when they take your current image (age 23) and then the artist creates an image of what you will look like at 50 and 75 ect.

I found this site for you. http://www.marciastutorials.com/facemorph.html teaches you how to take your current photo and age it.
