How do Microsoft Project and Project Sever CALs Work?
We are a small organization with 5 - 6 managers who use M$ Project intermittantly. I am trying to minimize the expense of this application. If I buy Project Server does the single CAL that is included allow one user at a time to use the application? Or, do I require a CAL for each user, even if they never use the application simultaniously?

It's a pain, trying to figure out Microsoft licensing, isn't it? :-) For Project Server: "Project Server 2007 Client Access Licenses (CALs) are required for each device or user that accesses the features and services of Project Server 2007, for example to use the thin Web client Project Web Access, Project Web Parts in SharePoint, or connecting customized client interfaces. How do I connect, read from, and write to a sql server 2000 data base via C#.NET 2005?
I can write applications in C#.NET 2005, and can make databases in MS SQL Sever 2000. Now I want to access this database using my application. How would I go about doing that?

Does anybody know why Mark Harris was denied contact with his children by the Courts?
I have just watched a video clip from the Richard and Judy Show where Mark Harris claims he was denied contact with his children for 6 years but he didn't say why. Clearly the mother made an application to sever contact and the courts felt it was sufficiently serious enough to deny contact altogether - does anybody know? He is a member of the Fathers 4 Justice campaign group, has wrote a book and generally made quite a name for himself. Check him on the internet.

How does an RN get a job in the hospital if she has been out for sever years?
Live in Texas I'm finding hospitals won't give me a call back License in good standing CPR up to date With a nursing shortage, and finding a nurse who is experienced and highly motivated why do they just not even bother to call back. Now days they have the e-resume application, i send them in and no calls. It seems that some bright hospital would have a little in-service to refresh a nurse, I have been working in home health, so it's not like i have been picking daises. I know I'm not the only one experiencing this, you guys who know what to do let me know, I don't want to go to a refresher course, it costs $900 all told, that's a rip off, and still no guarantees you get a job. I think they discriminate against older people, older nurses.

Try applying at an out of hospital rehabilitation center. They take sub acute patients and you will get the experience you need to refresh your skills. Then go on to the hospital. They jump at the RN's who apply.

Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Javascript to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send recieve delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. Just modify the connectstring and reset the control to the new string, then open it up. Same with the report file. You can load reports into the control just by changing the report parameter. In the worst case scenario you can always create a new control, configure and replace the old one.

IT 1099 consultant? What is a good rate for an IT consult to charge for a 1099 gig? The guy has ten years experience is architecting/devolving SQL Sever and C# web application for us.

It's difficult to say without knowing where you are living or seeing his previous work experience. I have worked with architect consultants who were making anywhere from $75-200/hr. Rate will also depend on length of project, i.e. shorter projects cost you more per hour than longer ones.
